Alex Hogg, P.Eng, PMP

Alex is a Professional Biomedical Engineer with a background in product, project management, innovation, and engineering. His experience ranges from device development for medical, industrial safety, and human performance applications to healthcare software platforms. Over his career, Alex has overseen the successful delivery and go-to-market of multiple products, including solutions for apparel manufacturers, healthcare organizations, defense contractors, research institutions, and the industrial sector.

Alex began his career as an R&D engineer where he conducted research projects and developed prototypes using emerging technologies such as embedded machine learning algorithms, biosensors, and robotics. He also funded multiple development projects utilizing programs such as SRED and has a strong understanding of how to successfully write and apply for government funding. He also worked to secure IP for his work and holds multiple Patents & Copyrights for applications in AI, Life Sciences, and Defense. Alex still acts as a Subject Matter Expert in the field of R&D and Innovation and consults for enterprise clients.

As a Product Manager, Alex has used his technical and business background to lead multiple cross-functional teams in the conceptualization, design, manufacturing, marketing, and launch of both hardware and software products. He has conducted market research to develop unique pricing models, create “value stories”, and develop long-term product strategies and roadmaps. Alex strongly leans towards a "voice-of-customer" first approach to translate market pain points into actionable product requirements.

In his free time, Alex is a competitive triathlete and adventure photographer. Since moving to Canmore he has enjoyed alpine climbing, backcountry skiing, and trail running.
