Glen McCrimmon, P. Geo, BSc
Glen is an influential energy sector leader with extensive experience in corporate innovation, strategic planning, stakeholder relations, subsurface technical operations and governance. He is a Professional Geologist (P. Geo) and holds a BSc degree in Geology from the University of Regina and a MSc in Earth Science from the University of Ottawa.
He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Alberta Innovates and is an Executive Committee and Board advisor to the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN). In all of his endeavors Glen is focused on bridging the gaps among the energy, cleantech and digital sectors with aim towards a cleaner energy future.
Appointed Husky Energy’s Chief of Innovation in 2018, he built on the expertise of technical leaders and out-of-the-box thinkers, driving the philosophy that “better is always different.”
Prior to this role, he was Chief Geologist at Husky and began his career in 1996 as a geoscientist with Imperial Oil. He held multi-year assignments in Houston TX, St. John’s NL, and Calgary contributing to or leading energy projects around the world.
Glen lives in Canmore, Alberta and is an avid cross-country skier. In the off-season he enjoys running, cycling and hiking.
