Matthew Brown Ph.D
Chief Technical Officer

Matthew holds a Ph.D in Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario and has extensive experience in the areas of computing science, machine learning (artificial intelligence, A.I.), image and signal processing, statistics, brain imaging, and mental health. He has conducted scientific research for over two decades including projects with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute and is a current recipient of an NSERC Discovery Grant looking at how machine learning can be applied to brain imaging and mental health treatment.

His leadership and experience has attracted over $1.6 million in research funding for projects on which he has collaborated. Matthew founded Puzzle Rock Coding Inc. in 2017 to provide consulting services for machine learning, data analysis, and software development.

Matthew lives in Canmore and has a keen interest in hiking, climbing, backcountry skiing and mountain biking.
